Heroin addiction is always shown in the same bullshit hyped up way - we wanted to show the real deal, no little leather pouch, no stats on the number of ODs this year. After earning enough for the arvo's session, we filmed a couple shoot up in their high rise commission flat at 3 in the arvo. REPORTED: KIRK DOCKER & BASSETT DICKSON

Wow. I'm so glad you made this incredible episode. People need to be confronted with uncomfortable realities like this. To PJ and his friend, thank you for your honesty. Xx

When I was quite young, my brother was a user. No one ever in my family ever likes to talk about it, so I had no idea what it was like for him. Now I know what it was like for him, and what effort it took for him to turn his life around and become clean. Such a frank, confronting and fantastic episode. Thanks VCC.

the smile that came to her face when she was talking about her first hit made me feel sad but mostly sick.. it cant possibly ever be worth it. Did she say at any point during the interview that she regretted it?

My dad was a user got off it about 15 years or more ago, never really talked about it with him except that it was easy to get and things he saw in NAM and other life shit was just a way to excape i guess, Parris, she didnt say she regretted it no but she did say if you ever get the chance knock it back, and that is what you should do this shit isnt good, i have never done it and never will, a needle will only enter my body for ink, piercings or medical reasons, i know junkies they are good people but the drug makes them bad, its unfortunate that people fall into these situations but some people have no other way out and they think this is an excape..
good luck the chick and hey boy friend hope they get clean.

I've seen the needle
and the damage done.
A little part of it in everyone.
But every junkie's

That made me feel pretty sick. Having worked in D&A and youth for 20 years I don't think 'scare' tactics work at all. Everyone thinks they're better, smarter, cleverer, whatever and that it won't happen to them, they've got it under control. I really don't get what good could some out of a clip like that, it's not honest because they're on smack, probably shows a couple of people how to shoot up in their neck and for me it's sick and sad. Also a tokenistic way of 'giving a junkie a voice'!

No offence Deb but you're an idiot. The point of the clip was that it doesn't involve scare tactics. Are you suggesting junkies don't have anything to say? I hope you've left the industry.

Holy fuck Deb, this is as real as it gets. The word "tactic" doesn't even apply here...
Deb

Wow somebody doesn't like a different opinion. Read through the comments .... perhaps you could tell me Jeremey, because you're obviously way smarter than me, what do you think the point was? What impact does it have do you think? Does it bring about any change? Are there any long term effects likely to come about because of this footage?

shut up Deb, you're an idiot..and obvioulsy old.
it has a massive impact, it does bring change, it scares the fuck out of the viewers, and yes, there is a long term effect, because i don't think anyone that has just watched this will ever touch the stuff.

I am a computer programmer by trade and have been a 3 times a day heroin user now for 25 years. Just don't do it people. I have put at least 1.5 million dollars up the warwick farm in this time. Every cent I get goes up my arm. I have to go to work in withdrawal if I can't score. it is not a good life.

Watched this clip a year ago. Couldn't believe how easy it looked so I gave it a try with some mates. Just failed my first detox. Thanks guys.

Deb, in my opinion, I think that this clip is very illustrative in the way that it portrays the two heroin addicts. It is portrayed in a brutal and graphic way, and after watching I truely believe that I well never, ever shoot heroin.

Well done VCC on this clip.

Hope the two people get clean

Finally, Mistake, that is truly unfortunate and I hope you get clean too.
