We asked about that. You need a shooters license to buy a gun, and to get a shooters license you basically need a 'clean slate' in Big J's words. Which means you can't have any sort of convictions. He said he often gets dogies in there trying to buy shit and they either usher them out pretty quickly or call the cops in..

good ep. Yeah, you need a license to operate or shoot a gun in melbourne. I went and applied, and did a test when I was 15. It was marked out of 50. I got 44 and subsequently failed. (you need 45 or above). But there was this guy in the room during the info sesh who was really scary..The lecturer/policeman said "Never aim at a hard surface when shooting a firearm" and this guy replied "Does included people's head?" - and he wasn't joking. [he didn't pass either]

I guess a lot of aussies don't get to handle many firearms. Things are much different in the US. I grew up with a firearm in my hand.
