I saw a pretty good documentary about salvia. I think it was part of a 4 part bbc series on natural drugs that have been influential to ancient societies and shit like that. Can't remember what it was called though...

As you can see in the video, the small pipe the guys used makes it harder to keep the smoke in as it is hotter.
Buy as concentrated salvia as you can get, in my experience there really is a treshold. I used 20x extract, although you can't really trust those descriptions anyway. For some more background info on this wonderfull and heavy stuff, check out an interview with Daniel Siebert, a salvia guru.
